Shana PM was born and raised in a small-town, Springfield, right outside of Orangeburg, SC. Her father and mother kept her in the church at a very young age, and there at the tender age of 8, she found her passion for singing. She loved the way the music made her feel. Since then she’s been hooked, even writing her first Gospel song at only 14 years of age.
In 2005, she began to pursue the idea of having a professional career in the music industry as a Singer/Songwriter. That year she signed to a local independent label in Charleston, S.C. , in which the experience was a highlight but also a low point in her life. It was at this point that she realized that the two just weren’t a good fit and the beginning stages of her dreams became thwarted. Although, it took her awhile to adjust, she eventually learned to appreciate the experience and continued to move forward with her life.
Then in 2013, a year after finally being released from her contract, she was able to pick the pen back up and allow herself to dream again. Since then she’s been re-discovering herself as an artist and as a mother to her son Ahmir, (to whom she would describe as “The best son in the world.”)
Some of her biggest musical influences include Monica, Keyshia Cole, Faith Evans, and Janet Jackson because they continue to inspire her as an artist and as a mother.
She sends love to her Mom, Dad, Son, and Baby-big Brother for the support over the years. Come along her journey as she takes the world by storm.
